The Advanced Facilitator Training Online is an intense practicum using the Advanced Shadow Work Processes, called the “Identity Wound Processes:” the Tombstone, the God-Split, the Predator, and the Good Guy/Bad Guy. The training consists of up to 17 3-hour Zoom sessions, during which you will learn and then practice all the Advanced Processes. You will practice each process on one of the trainers. You will also be playing roles in the other practices and participating in group sharing and a detailed discussion of each process. In addition, you will be put into small groups with other students to practice the processes outside of the regular class times. The scope of what you can expect to get out of this training is enormous and includes:
- A solid grounding in advanced Shadow Work® facilitation skills, including how to facilitate the four Identity Wound processes.
- Learning about the deepest wounds that human beings carry and how those wounds manifest themselves in various behaviors.
- A powerful experience of your own personal growth.
- Professional facilitating skills that you can apply yourself, at home or in your community.
If you choose to enroll in this training you will receive the manual and links to training videos after you have put down a deposit and signed the appropriate licensing agreement for receiving the Advanced Facilitator Training Manual. In this way, you can become familiar with the tools and processes before the training. This training is highly experiential and has a small participant-to-trainer ratio. It involves a great deal of hands-on facilitation time.
In order to qualify for the Advanced Facilitator Training (“AFT”), you must first complete the Basic Facilitator Training In-Person or the Basic Facilitator Training Online plus the Advanced Facilitator Training Prerequisite Seminar. Please contact us for an explanation of the options that are available to you for qualifying to attend the AFT.
The AFT is the next step to becoming certified as either a Shadow Work Group Facilitator or a Shadow Work Coach. After attending this training, you are eligible to attend the Shame Lifter Training and then the Leader Training or the Coaching Training.

BROCHURE FOR THE ADVANCED FACILITATOR TRAINING
The Advanced Facilitator Training (AFT) will teach you to facilitate the four Identity Wound processes: the Tombstone, the God-Split, the Predator, and the Good Guy/Bad Guy. You will also learn how to recognize the corresponding Identity Wounds when they show up in participants and in yourself.
The Identity Wounds tend to be the most shameful wounds we carry. This training will give you the chance to see, own, and accept these wounds in yourself, along with the resulting shadow-y behaviors. This can be a painful process. At the same time, we believe that in order to become a really skilled and compassionate facilitator, you need to know and love these parts of yourself.
The Shadow Work AFT provides you with powerful tools to liberate those parts of yourself (and others) that have been repressed and denied. It gives you step-by-step summaries for facilitating Shadow Work processes, together with lots of experiential practice time. We train small groups of facilitators so you can receive plenty of mentoring and guidance from us as you practice the processes.
This training also provides you with the opportunity for some personal growth as you work with the shadows that might block your ability to facilitate or block your ability to just live the life you want. In this way, you will have more capacity, choice and balance with which to live your life.
Besides learning to facilitate the Advanced Shadow Work processes, you will also be taken more deeply into understanding the four basic “Shifts in Perception” we use to illuminate the most difficult shadows you will encounter as a facilitator. Learning to understand what’s really beneath the most difficult shadows gives you leverage for dealing with most wounds. You will learn how each of the four biggest shadows grew out of a particular set of wounds, and how it can be unraveled and mended by the Shadow Work processes.
Our focus in this training will be to familiarize you completely with these wounds and provide you with a solid grounding in the facilitation of the Identity Wound processes. You will practice facilitating the different processes with one of the trainers acting as the participant. During this time, you will also be learning to facilitate these processes on yourself, so that you can benefit from each process even when you are by yourself.
The Online AFT does not include any practicing on the other participants in real, live processes, nor does it contain the opportunity to be led through a real, live process of your own, facilitated by other participants. This is because some folks only want to learn the tools for use in their existing practices, like their therapy or coaching or on weekends run by other organizations, where there is plenty of opportunity for practicing. However, if you want to get certified as a Shadow Work Facilitator or Coach, then your next move after the AFT Online will be to attend the Certification Prerequisite Seminar, where you will facilitate live AFT processes on other participants, and be facilitated by other participants through an AFT process of you own.
If you wish to attend an AFT which contains practicing in real, live AFT processes, please consider attending the AFT In-Person Training, where you will be taught In-Person, and practice real, live processes. We know that some of you prefer to be together in-person with others as you learn new skills. And some of you prefer the online format because it allows you time between each class for integrating and practicing what you have learned even more before you learn the next skill. The choice is yours.
Your ability to absorb and facilitate the Identity Wound processes will depend on your ability to use the basic Shadow Work tools: splits and triangles, support, metaphors, and boundaries. To prepare for this training, you will want to review your Basic Facilitator Training materials and spend as much time facilitating as you can before the training.

The Zoom Sessions for learning and practicing will be scheduled when the most people can attend, using a Doodle Poll.
