Shadow Work® Coaching Training Online in 2026

You could become certified as a Shadow Work Coach and coach people online or in person. We are scheduling this course for the spring of 2026, with classes running into the fall; actual dates and times will be based on the availability of those who register.

Prerequisites are: the Basic Facilitator Training, Advanced Facilitator Training and the Processing Inflations Training and you must be enrolled in The Shame Lifters Online Training (does not have to be complete whe you sign up for the coach training). However, you may not be certified as a Shadow Work Coach until you have successfully completed the Shame Lifters Training.  The Coaching Training is the final training for becoming certified as a Shadow Work coach.

The Coaching Training includes:

• -20 live online classes, with each class recorded, in case you missed it live
• -The Shadow Work Coaching Training Manual
• -A practice coaching session with one of the Trainers
• -Practice coaching sessions with other students
• -An exchange of real coaching sessions with other students.

For certification, one of the trainers will observe you over Zoom as you deliver an in-person coaching session to the coachee of your choice.

The tuition for the Online Coaching Training is $3200. To register you need to do 5 things:

1. Be sure that you have proper internet service, in order to participate fully in the online work,
2. Schedule a phone appointment with Vicki or Karin (to enroll in the training, and discuss the possibilities for your certification),
3. Send a $750 deposit to Shadow Work Seminars, 1730 Lombardy Dr., Boulder, CO 80304 or by Paypal to shadowwk@frii.com or give Vicki your MasterCard/VISA number at +1-303-442-7989,
4. Sign a licensing agreement in order to receive your Coaching Manual.

Because we believe it’s important for you to know Shadow Work Coaching from the inside, before you can be certified you will be expected to contract separately for a Shadow Work Coaching session from a Certified Shadow Work Coach (if you have not already experienced Shadow Work Coaching for yourself). The cost of this coaching is not included in the tuition for the online course

Coaching Certification

You may be certified at the end of the training, after facilitating a real coaching session observed by one of the trainers. If you do not “pass” your certification session, we will tailor a program for you to become certified at a later date. The cost of this additional work will depend on the nature of your program.

Once you are Certified, you will be entitled to call your coaching Shadow Work Coaching. In order to maintain your certification, you will be required to trade an in-person Shadow Work Coaching session with another Certified SW Coach once every two years.

Even if you do not choose to become certified as a Shadow Work Coach, you are entitled to use your Shadow Work Coaching skills in any way you wish, so long as you are in line with the licensing agreement you sign.

The Agenda for the Training:

• –Each class will be 90-minutes long that includes instruction, time for questions and discussion. There will also be practice sessions devoted solely to practice.
• –You will learn the steps for facilitating whole coaching sessions.
• –You should be very adept at the Risk Manager process, the What’s at Risk process and the Switch process.
• –Then you will practice setting up the container for a coaching session over Zoom with a Trainer playing the coachee. The Trainer will also support you in following the Shadow Work steps for setting up your container. Unlike group work, where we set the container first, and then do Centerwork processes, in the coaching container you must set up the safety of a container at the same time as you are learning what the coachee wants and what the risks might be, and setting out parts, and so on.
  • –For this reason we will also have you practice setting the container again over Zoom with some of the other students. To do this, you will play a coachee half of the time, and play a coach for the other half.
  • –And to prevent you from working with your own stuff too many times in a row, during these “practice set-ups,” you will play your mother, father or other relative, while someone else sets the coaching container for you. This is both fascinating and instructional. As you play one of your relatives — a coachee who “really wants to do some work” — you will find that you come to understand and appreciate one of your family members in a new way.
  • –You will also receive a real coaching session, being coached online by one of the other trainees. And you will coach one of the other trainees in a real coaching session.
